Miles Glowacki has been newly appointed and Stephen Pearson reappointed to the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District's Budget Committee. Each will serve a three-year term.
Pearson, a Cedar Mill resident, joined the committee in 2013. He has also served on the district's Parks Bond Citizen Oversight Committee since 2009 and will continue in that role.
Glowacki, who lives in Aloha, previously served four years on THPRD's Parks Advisory Committee.
The Budget Committee generally meets three times a year and is responsible for providing public oversight of budget preparations, recommending changes to the proposed budget, and supplying information to the public about district business and operations.
The 10-member committee includes all five THPRD board members and five citizen members. Each citizen member is appointed by the board to a three-year term. They must live within park district boundaries.
THPRD is the largest special park district in Oregon, spanning about 50 square miles and serving 230,000 residents in the greater Beaverton area. The district provides year-round recreational opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Offerings include thousands of widely diverse classes, more than 90 park sites with active recreational amenities, 60 miles of trails, eight swim centers, six recreation centers, and 1,400 acres of natural areas.
