New activities guide is out; winter registration begins Dec. 14
November 22, 2013
New book, new look.
The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District’s winter/spring 2014 activities guide is now available in print in numerous community locations, complementing the district’s online version.
The new guide – featuring Veronica Lake’s “The Heron” on the front cover – includes registration information, schedules and prices for hundreds of classes, programs, and special events. Online and phone registration for winter term starts Dec. 14.
The guide can be picked up at any THPRD recreation or aquatic center. It’s also available at the Administration Office, 158th and Walker Road, Beaverton.
In addition, limited quantities of the book have been distributed to Beaverton-area libraries and the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce, Beaverton City Hall, Beaverton School District Administration Center, and the Washington County Visitors Association.
THPRD patrons can also access the activities guide online at any time of day via the Internet. Just go to www.thprd.org.
Veronica Lake is a painter who lives in Cedar Mill. Her watercolor of a blue heron at THPRD’s Commonwealth Lake was the winning entry in a 2013 Artists in the Parks contest organized this past summer by the Beaverton Arts Commission. The Park District sponsored the first-ever contest to help showcase local artists.
Online and phone registration for winter term will be open to in-district residents starting at 8 a.m. on Dec. 14 and go until 6 p.m. that day. It will continue Dec. 15 from noon to 4 p.m. and Dec. 16-20 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Patrons registering by computer for the first time must establish an online account in advance at www.thprd.org/activities. Those registering by phone simply need to call 503/439-9400 starting Dec. 14 (after Dec. 20, call or visit any THPRD center; phone numbers and addresses are listed in the activities guide and on the website).
Those registering should have class information, credit card or debit information (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or THPRD gift card), and a valid THPRD residency card. They can sign up only members of their immediate family. Questions in advance can be directed to 503/645-6433.
For out-of-district residents, registration will begin Friday, Dec. 20, at 8:30 a.m. Those who have paid an assessment fee ($77 quarterly) may register by Internet, phone, fax, mail or walk-in starting that day.
