Patrons invited to three December workshops to help guide allocation of public subsidies
November 16, 2012
Next month, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District is providing patrons a unique opportunity to directly influence how the Park District allocates public money to its many programs and activities.
THPRD and GreenPlay, a parks and recreation consultant, will host three workshops, December 12-13, to provide patrons the chance to weigh in on the direct public benefit of our services, facilities and programs.
After a short presentation from GreenPlay explaining the pyramid methodology, patrons will help “group” services so that those delivering the greatest public benefit receive the most public funding. The resulting Cost Recovery Model and Resource Allocation Philosophy will be a component part of our planning and budgeting process to ensure THPRD’s sustainable financial future.
Food will be provided for participants of each workshop, and incentive prizes will be awarded to some participants as well. A limited number of spots are available for each workshop; spaces will be filled on a first-come, first served basis.
Workshop schedule:
Wednesday, Dec. 12: Cedar Hills Recreation Center (6-8:30 p.m.)
Thursday, Dec. 13: Elsie Stuhr Center (2-4:30 p.m.)
Thursday, Dec. 13: Elsie Stuhr Center (6-8:30 p.m.)
Patrons are encouraged to RSVP by Dec. 5 for the workshop of their choice by contacting Marilou Caganap at 503/645-6433 (x1663) or by e-mailing her directly at mcaganap@thprd.org. Please include date/time of the workshop you wish to attend. No walk-ins please.
