The Garden Home THRIVE afterschool program provides children with a fun, safe and active environment to learn, grow and play.
THRIVE is an afterschool program that runs out of Garden Home Recreation Center. This fall, THRIVE begins September 3, 2019 and ends June 11, 2020. THRIVE runs program Monday thru Friday from 2:30 - 6:00p. Students receive a snack upon arrival. Our program gives kids the opportunity to have fun, learn, and express themselves through a variety of activities, while maintaining a safe environment. We recognize your child spends an entire day in school; our program is designed to give children the opportunity to choose from a variety of activities including: social skills development, physical play, homework assistance, and free time.
THRIVE currently provides service to students at the following schools: Fir Grove, Raleigh Hills, Raleigh Park, Hayhurst, Vose, Montclair, McKay and Whitford.
To provide children with a positive environment where they have the opportunity to have fun, learn, and express themselves through a variety of activities.
Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District believes that children benefit from friendly and supportive interactions with other children and instructors. THRIVE strives to provide a fun and educational environment where children have the opportunity to develop talents and to become global citizens.
Staff members have experience in education, recreation leadership, arts and much more. Each staff member is First Aid, CPR & AED certified. Prior to working with children, each staff member completes a criminal background training and undergoes staff training. All staff who drive must be 18 years old.
Homework is an essential part of the after school program. It includes time to complete assignments and academically enriching activities. While children are encouraged to complete their homework, THRIVE cannot be held accountable for its accuracy and completion.
