Camp Rivendale is a summer day camp that provides recreational opportunities for children and young adults who have physical, emotional, and/or developmental disabilities.
Camp Rivendale contributes to the physical, mental, and social growth of campers through the exploration of music, dance, drama, visual arts, sports, and aquatics. Our staff and volunteers provide affection, support, and companionship to campers and work to promote the dignity, self-respect, and independence of individuals with disabilities.
Each summer, day-long camps are run at this serene, inviting campus for youth and adults. About 50 to 60 attend the youth camp each week: campers can attend all weeks or just a few. Staff members and volunteers supervise all activities daily from 9 am to 3 pm.

History
Staff named the camp for the Land of Rivendell, from the "Lord of the Rings" series by J.R.R. Tolkien. Rivendell was a magical world where everyone was happy and compatible and life was wonderful with no hardships, burdens, or sadness. An office worker mistakenly typed "R-i-v-e-n-d-a-l-e" as the camp's name; it seemed right and the spelling stuck.
Camp Rivendale is part of the 68-acre Jenkins Estate campus. Camp grounds feature restrooms, two office areas, two covered pavilions, and an accessible playground, and also provide pathways and trails, natural areas, maintained gardens, a fish pond, a foot bridge, and lots of open play area.
